Woellustrun

The Woellust Run is a friendly, accessible running event in Groningen, with distances for both children and adults. The 2.5-kilometre course winds through the neighbourhood with no fewer than 30 turns and plenty of enthusiastic supporters along the route. Children can take part in the 500- and 1,000-metre races, while adults can choose between 5 and 10 kilometres. There are great prizes to be won, including prize money for the top three in the 5- and 10-kilometre races and a special prize for setting a new course record.

Registration on the day of the run incurs a surcharge of € 2,50 per entry. The minimum age for the children’s 500 m race is 4–9 years, for the 1,000 m race 4–11 years, and for the 5 and 10 km races 10 years. The children’s race awards ceremony is at 14:30; the 5 and 10 km awards ceremony is at 16:00. Prize money is awarded to the top three in the 5 and 10 km races, and there is a special Primera course-record prize for new records in the 5 and 10 km races. The course starts at the intersection of Duintjerlaan and Sterrenboschlaan. Registration is open, with prizes for the top three and course records.
