Mûzelloop Jirnsum

The Mûzelloop Jirnsum is a friendly running race held in the beautiful surroundings of the small river Mûzel in Jirnsum. The routes pass historical and natural landmarks, including the old lower course of the Boarn River and the Sneker Oudvaart. The race offers several distances, including a kids’ run and distances of 5, 8.3 and 10 km, with aid stations along the way. The event is organized by a foundation with the help of volunteers and sponsors. It has a warm local atmosphere, with prizes for the top finishers and special trophies for the best Jirnsummers.

Race numbers can be collected from 18:00 in the large hall of the 2 Gemeenten. No showers are available. Ample parking is available nearby at the 2 Gemeenten, opposite the transmission tower on Rijksweg. The routes are marked with arrow signs and chalk arrows, and traffic marshals are stationed at key points. All children receive a memento. Prizes are awarded to first, second and third place in each distance, with special trophies for the best Jirnsummers. The event is limited to 300 participants, and online advance registration is the only way to enter. The event takes place in April 2027, with distances for children and adults, in a beautiful natural setting for runners.
