LOOP Leeuwarden

LOOP Leeuwarden is Fryslân’s largest running and walking event, attracting thousands of participants every year. The routes pass through Leeuwarden’s atmospheric city centre and surrounding natural areas, with the start and finish by the iconic Oldehove. The half marathon is the longest distance and offers a challenging mix of city and countryside running. With a wide range of distances, there is a suitable challenge for every runner, from 5 km to 21.1 km.

The start and finish are at Wilhelminaplein and the foot of the Oldehove. Race numbers can be ordered with personalisation until 21 April and delivered to your home until 5 April. Official timing is provided, along with aid stations offering water, sports drinks, fruit and toilets along the route. The course is safe and closed to traffic. There are several waves, with colour codes for the start groups. The event also offers volunteer opportunities and provides information about registration and start times; it is held in Leeuwarden, Friesland.
