Monnikenloop

The Monnikenloop is an annual running race held on the beautiful island of Schiermonnikoog. The race offers several distances, including a kids’ run, 5 km, 10 km and 10 English Miles, and attracts both recreational and dedicated runners. The event combines sporting spirit with a friendly atmosphere and invites participants to experience the island’s unique nature. The start and finish are centrally located, and there is plenty of opportunity to enjoy an atmospheric weekend with accommodation available on the island.

Kids’ runs start from 11:20, the 5 km starts at 12:40, the 10 km at 12:50 and the 10 English Miles at 12:30. The race pack includes a race number with chip and a bus pass for transport on the island. Participants must reserve their own ferry ticket. A running shirt can be ordered. Changes to registration can be made for a fee until the end of March. The start and finish are in the village, with changing and shower facilities. Several distances; registration opens on 1 October 2026; accommodation is available on the island; the event takes place in March.
