Stoomtramloop

The Stoomtramloop is a unique recreational running experience in which participants travel by historic steam tram from Medemblik to Opperdoes or Twisk. Participants then run 5 or 10 kilometres back to Medemblik. The focus is on fun and the experience. Because the start and finish locations vary, exact timekeeping is not possible, and every participant is a winner. The event takes place on the first Sunday of April and offers a special combination of sport and history.

Maximum 500 participants, split equally between the 5 km and 10 km distances. Registration includes steam tram transport and a unique running shirt. Time limits: 45 minutes for 5 km and 90 minutes for 10 km. There is a drinks station at Opperdoes station. Traffic marshals are present at crossings. There is a small chance of waiting at railway crossings. Participation includes a running shirt and steam tram transport. The event is limited to 500 participants and is known for its friendly, non-competitive atmosphere.
