Kerst Cross Opmeer

The Kerstcross Opmeer is a sporting and atmospheric cross-country running event held annually on Boxing Day in Opmeer. With a rich tradition and more than 2,200 participants, young and old, the Kerstcross offers challenging courses beside the VVS’46 grounds, with the start and finish on the A-field. The race is part of the Noord-Hollands Crosskampioenschap and is known for its warm atmosphere, professional chip timing, and personal touch, with names printed on race numbers. After the event, all participants receive a memento and can watch the finish video online.

Race numbers are mailed to participants who register in advance before 1 December, with their names printed on them. On-the-day registration is available from 9:00 until 30 minutes before the start, with card payment only. Timing is provided by a ChronoRace chip in the race number. The prize-giving takes place outdoors immediately after the finish, on the A-field grandstand. All 800-meter runners receive a water bottle at the finish. Hot showers and changing rooms are available. Dogs are not allowed on the land. Distances: 5 km and 10 km, including the Noord-Hollands Crosskampioenschap; the event also includes a walking tour and prize money.
