Loop door Houten

Loop door Houten is an atmospheric running event held annually in the centre of Houten. It offers a range of distances, from the Kidsrun and Jeugdloop for primary school children to the 5 and 10 kilometres, the SAMSAMLOOP for pairs, and a team race for teams of four runners. The course passes through Oude Dorp and Castellum, with the finish at Het Plein, and is known for its friendly atmosphere and enthusiastic participants. Volunteers play an important role in the event’s success, which is also a celebration of running and having fun together.

Race numbers can be collected on the day of the event from 16:00 to 19:15 in the hall of Roskam in Oude Dorp. Digital late registration is available until 18:00 on the day of the event, as long as the maximum number of participants has not been reached. Pre-registration opens on 15 March. The schedule includes a warm-up for the Kidsrun/Jeugdloop and a walking event at 17:45, with the walks starting at 18:00, the Kidsrun at 18:10, the Jeugdloop at 18:25, the SAMSAMLOOP at 19:10, and the 5 km, 10 km and Team Race at 19:40. Awards are presented in various categories after the event. Training opportunities and course familiarisation sessions are offered beforehand. The organisers ask participants to prepare properly, including by following advice on running in high temperatures. Distances range from the Kidsrun (1 km) to 10 km, including the Jeugdloop and SAMSAMLOOP. Registration is open and volunteers are wanted. The event takes place in Houten.
