Race description
Zombies are Coming is a unique 180-kilometre ultrarun from Amsterdam to Groningen. Participants must maintain a steady pace of 7.5 km/h to finish within 24 hours. They carry all their own supplies and run without a crew while being pursued by a “zombie horde” that eliminates anyone who falls behind the pace. It is not a race against other runners, but a personal challenge to reach the finish and stay ahead of the zombies.
Highlights

Participants must carry everything themselves; crews are not allowed. The race has a rolling cutoff: anyone caught by the zombie horde, which moves at 7.5 km/h, must stop. Participants arrange their own return journey, but a zombie vehicle may help them reach a public transport stop. The route is in the Netherlands and takes place in both darkness and daylight. Public water taps are available, but there are no aid stations or on-site volunteers.
