Texel Halve Marathon

The Texel Half Marathon is a unique running event with a nautical character, taking place on Sunday, 27 September 2026. The start is special: runners set off from the TESO ferry, with the ship’s horn signalling the start. There are three distances: the half marathon, quarter marathon and eighth marathon, all finishing in the centre of Den Burg. A Kidsrun organised by Sportstichting Texel takes place beforehand for younger runners. Participants receive an original T-shirt, a medal and refreshments along the way.

All distances start at 12:25 when the TESO ferry’s ship’s horn sounds. The half and quarter marathons can start either from the ferry or from the island. The eighth marathon starts in Den Hoorn. All distances finish in the centre of Den Burg. A Kidsrun takes place in the centre of Den Burg before the half marathon. Cycling is not permitted on the beach or in the forest; bike rentals are available on the island. Every participant receives an original T-shirt, a medal and refreshments along the way. Registration details can be changed via a personal dashboard until 20 September 2026. T-shirt changes can be submitted until 31 May. Registration opens on 1 February 2026 via the website, with payment by iDEAL, Bancontact or Sofort. Minimum ages range from 12 to 18 years, depending on the distance. Overnight accommodation and team registration are available. The start is at 12:25; participants can choose to start from the ferry or from the island.
