Molens Mooiste

Molensmooiste is a unique running race taking place on Saturday 3 October 2026 at the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Kinderdijk. Participants run through the iconic windmill area, with the start and finish in the heart of this beautiful landscape. The race offers two distances, 5 English Miles (8 km) and 10 English Miles (16 km), with this year’s routes passing all the windmills of Kinderdijk. Starts take place in waves because of the narrow start path, so everyone can make the most of the windmill experience. The event is organised under the auspices of athletics club AAA Alblasserdam and attracts around 1,500 participants.

Race number and shoe tag will be ready at the runners’ village; collect them by 09:00 at the latest. Starts take place in waves because of the narrow start path. The runners’ village opens at 07:00. After finishing, participants receive a medal and a windmill map. Optional extras: an event shirt (€24,95) and a running cap (€14,95); order by 19 September 2026 at the latest. Registration is open while places remain, up to a maximum of 1,500 participants. The event starts at 09:30 and offers a unique experience through a landscape of windmills and UNESCO World Heritage.
