Knallende Kilometer

De Knallende Kilometer is a unique running event organized by Athletics and Walking Club De Kieviten, taking place on Saturday, November 7, 2026, at Familierestaurant Bergsche Plas in Bergschenhoek. It is a time-trial start, with each runner setting off individually at 30-second intervals, giving you the chance to run a fast kilometer on a straight, flat course. Afterward, instead of a medal, you’ll receive a delicious pancake or a warm bowl of snert as a reward. The event is open to both competitive runners and recreational runners looking to enjoy a friendly run.

Collect your race number at Familierestaurant Bergsche Plas. The best place to park is Mollenplaats. After finishing, you’ll receive a pancake or a bowl of snert at the restaurant. Participants will receive their start time by email one week before the event. On-the-day registration is not possible, and places are limited. Flat, 1,000-meter course on the cycle path above the Rottemerentunnel; start at Familierestaurant Bergsche Plas; parking at Mollenplaats; advance registration required.
