Hernense Stratenloop

The Hernense Street Race is a small-scale, recreational running event held in the picturesque village of Hernen. On Saturday, October 10, 2026, the 17th edition will feature four distances: 600 metres, 1,200 metres, 5 kilometres and 10 kilometres. The routes pass through the village and the beautiful surrounding countryside, by the medieval castle, the grain mill, Hernense Forest and rural Leur. The event is suitable for all ages and offers a sporty, convivial afternoon with a warm atmosphere and plenty of spectators along the route.

Race numbers and timing chips are provided free of charge and can be collected from the registration desk at community centre De Mijlpaal up to half an hour before the start. There is a water station along the route by the mill, and participants receive fruit and water after finishing. First aid is available. Changing rooms and showers are available at De Mijlpaal. Prize ceremonies take place at 14:30 for the youth distances and at 16:15 for the 5 km and 10 km. The best Hernen resident receives a special prize. Registration opens in April 2026, with on-site registration available on race day. The event takes place on October 10, 2026, at 'De Mijlpaal' in Hernen.
