Boerbos cross

The Boerbos Cross in Rolde is a challenging cross-country race through the unique landscape of the Boerbos, part of the UNESCO Global Geopark De Hondsrug. The route follows unpaved paths over hills, heathland and sand drifts, with distances for juniors, seniors and masters. The race is organised by Loopgroep SGO, Gieten and Vomos and is part of the Hondsrug cross circuit. Timing is chip-free, and participant numbers are limited.

There are three categories: juniors (ages 12–17, approx. 5 km), seniors and masters, with a short distance (5 km) and a long distance (approx. 9 km). Timing is chip-free. A waiting list may be available if registration is full. Public transport is available, with a stop within walking distance. The course is approximately 5 or 9 km through forest and sand drifts. Registration is via inschrijven.nl. The maximum is 100 participants for the Boerbos Cross only and 250 for the cross circuit.
